St. Francis is a comfortable, modern restaurant with a rustic sensibility. We serve
seasonal, wood-fired cuisine with an emphasis on quality ingredients and the
integrity of simple flavors.
The heart of our kitchen is our wood-fired oven, and at any given time it is hard at
work baking bread and roasting meats and vegetables. Our team works together
to develop thoughtful cuisine from the freshest ingredients available according to
seasonality.

Executive Chef
Chris Barch
Chef Chris Barch of St. Francis was born and raised in rural Arkansas. Living in the heart of farmland, Chris experienced eating farm-to-table food at a young age. Chris would help his grandparents prepare for Sunday supper by picking okra, greens, and tomatoes from their sprawling garden.
With a passion for food instilled by his upbringing, Chris pursued a culinary career. His beginnings in the hospitality industry started with entry-level positions at local restaurants. Eventually he relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he became the sous chef at Coobah, a Latin fusion restaurant in the Roscoe Village neighborhood.
After relocating to Phoenix to live with his then-fiancée (now wife), Chris started at St. Francis in 2010 and was promoted to Executive Chef in March 2012. His close relationships with local Arizona farmers have allowed him to create simple, ingredient-driven dishes that highlight the produce available in town.
