Hot dog lovers rejoice! As the dog days of summer fade out, Joe’s Farm Grill heats up with its popular monthlong Hot Dog Days extravaganza, offering specials on over the top hot dog creations.
Beginning Friday, Sept. 2 through Friday, Sept. 30, hot dog lovers can chow down on the following specials, featuring all-beef, natural-casing hot dogs and premium sausages from Schreiner’s Fine Sausages in Phoenix, served with French fries or choice of side from the regular menu. Cost is $13 for one or $19 for two (of the same or a mix-and-match combo).
Dynamite Dog — A Schreiner’s spicy pork hot link is slathered with scorpion pepper and habanero cream cheese and topped with hand-breaded fried chillito peppers and sweet-hot pepper jelly. It’s a little adventurous, but not too dangerous.
BBQ Bacon Blue O-Ring Dog — A clone of Joe’s famous burger bacon-wrapped, BBQ sauce-dipped hot dog threads three onion rings and sits nestled in tangy blue cheese.
Big Fat Greek Dog — A Schreiner’s smoked Greek-seasoned pork sausage is topped with cucumber Tzatziki sauce, drizzled with yellow mustard and piled high with Joe’s Farm Grill’s Greek fries featuring garlic sauce, feta, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and fresh herbs.
Loco Moco Dog — This classic Hawaiian comfort food is built in a bowl with an open-face buttered grilled bun, sticky rice, Farm burger patty, split grilled hot dog, and lots of rich homemade brown gravy, topped with a fried sunny-side up egg, ready to ooze its yolk… (Mahalo, Joe!)
Banh Mi Dog — Saigon, Paris and Gilbert come together in this version of the classic street food sandwich. Sliced Schreiner’s Bockwurst medallions (mild veal-pork sausage), fresh house-pickled carrot, daikon, cucumber, serrano pepper and cilantro are layered on mayo and herb liver pate-spread upon a toasted French roll.
Carolina Blue Dog — This grilled dog is topped with a generous portion of Joe’s Farm Grill’s famous BBQ pulled pork, tangy crumbled blue cheese and hand-cut sweet coleslaw, then drizzled with Joe’s Real BBQ sauce and homemade ranch dressing.
Cheddar Coney Dog — Grilled hot dog smothered with homemade Michigan Coney chili sauce, diced white onions and yellow mustard and piled with a mound of fine-shredded Tillamook cheddar.
Sonoran Dog — Jalapeno-stuffed bacon-wrapped fried hot dog with homemade Farm (pinto) beans, queso de cotija and pico de gallo topped with a yellow mustard and sour cream-mayo drizzle.
Rueben Dog — Hand-sliced corned beef brisket, melty Swiss, fresh sauerkraut piled on a grilled split hot dog with Russian dressing in a carraway seeded bun.
